Combat Overeating with Water
Drink a glass of water before a meal, so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself. Have another glass of water while you are having the meal because it is another way to prevent overeating. Take sips after each morsel to help the food to settle faster
Introduction
- One of the greatest tips I’ve ever heard is that sometimes we overeat because we are thirsty and we do not recognize this.
- We are obsessed with health and tips but this is a lasting tip that most experts agree on.
- Drinking water is, truly, the best piece of advice you will ever hear.
- Our bodies are made up of 75% to 80% water so it follows that we have to replenish the water in our bodies.
Some other important facts about drinking water
1) It purifies the body from toxins and impurities that enter our bodies when we eat meals and when we breathe in air. There is no better way than purifying your body than drinking water.
2) How much to drink? You would have heard about 2 litres a day is the recommended amount.
3) It is all about getting into the habit and slowly, they say within 30 days, it will become part of your daily routine.
4) Keep a log or in the morning fill a bottle with the water for the day.
5) The first signs of dehydration are dry mouth, sticky saliva and reduced urine output with dark yellow urine. The person may also experience a lack of energy and a headache.
6) You can add some lemon juice to the water to ring the changes or some other fruit juice but ensure that you are drinking mainly water!
7) You might add some fizz to it by drinking club soda.
8) Many nutritionists say that drinking herbal tea is equivalent to drinking water. Herbal tea but not coffee or normal tea. I drink loads of yerba mate, because it is from my native Argentina and I am used to it. If you have never heard of yerba mate here is an article from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerba_mate. I drink it in the traditional form with a mate and bombilla.
9) If you feel hungry between meals or you feel you should not be feeling hungry, drink some water you will be surprised how your hunger reduces.
10) Carry a water bottle with you to the office or work so you don’t forget.
11) Don’t forget to drink water when you are working out!
12) The easiest and best method I have discovered is to take your current weight in lbs and divide it in half. This is your magic number of ounces for drinking water each day. So, for example, a woman weighing 160 pounds should drink the number that is half her weight, or 80, in ounces of water each day. It only works in Kilograms if you divide your weight in kg and divide by 4 and those are the 100 ml of water you have to take a day. (Rough guide)

Thanks for the reminder, I use to drink more that 2 liters of water a day and have gotten out of the habit. Time to get back to it. I know I feel better when I do.
