I will write about my experience and the products and food I have used successfully.
Since the late 70s there has been an interest in low fat diets but people are getting fatter worldwide. The obesity epidemic has reached monumental numbers in both USA and UK (my country of residence for 35 years). Why? Food manufactures have taken the goodness out of food with the fat and have replaced it with fillers that are making people fat.
Our lives have changed without recognition, we do not have time to cook and we tend to use processed foods for everything.
Today, I read something really alarming that USA citizens spend more in fast foods than cars, computers, games, it is an industry worth $ 110 billion.
Obesity in the world
The World Health Organisation Statistics show it very clearly:
“Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. A crude population measure of obesity is the body mass index (BMI), a person’s weight (in kilograms) divided by the square of his or her height (in metres). A person with a BMI of 30 or more is generally considered obese. A person with a BMI equal to or more than 25 is considered overweight.
Overweight and obesity are major risk factors for a number of chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Once considered a problem only in high income countries, overweight and obesity are now dramatically on the rise in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in urban settings.
Key facts
- Worldwide obesity has nearly doubled since 1980.
- In 2008, more than 1.4 billion adults, 20 and older, were overweight. Of these over 200 million men and nearly 300 million women were obese.
- 35% of adults aged 20 and over were overweight in 2008, and 11% were obese.
- 65% of the world’s population live in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than underweight.
- More than 40 million children under the age of five were overweight in 2011.
- Obesity is preventable.
What are common health consequences of overweight and obesity?
Raised BMI is a major risk factor for no communicable diseases such as:
- cardiovascular diseases (mainly heart disease and stroke), which were the leading cause of death in 2008;
- diabetes;
- musculoskeletal disorders (especially osteoarthritis – a highly disabling degenerative disease of the joints);
- some cancers (endometrial, breast, and colon).
The risk for these no communicable diseases increases, with the increase in BMI.
Childhood obesity is associated with a higher chance of obesity, premature death and disability in adulthood. But in addition to increased future risks, obese children experience breathing difficulties, increased risk of fractures, hypertension, early markers of cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance and psychological effects.”
I have recently moved to Southern Spain and I have noticed that the locals still eat a lot of home prepared food, processed food is, luckily, still a very small percentage of their consumption. The same I observed every time I visit Argentina where processed food is noticeably more expensive than processed food.
Obesity used to be a disease of high income countries, but unfortunately, is spreading everywhere.
So what is the solution? That is what I will try to address in this blog with what I think it is the solution: HCG for fast and easy weight loss and a maintenance of natural foods for permanent weight loss.
I firmly believe that obesity is curable. The problem is that we demanded, in the Western World, cheaper food. The food multinationals complied. The problem we have now processed food that does not resemble the real thing. Think back, if you are as old as me :D, to the late 70s where the calorie counting became popular. I remember when low fat became popular. What happened? People became fatter! Why? because the natural goodness of food has been replaced!
I have a weight problem, despite that, I enjoy good health. I do not take daily medicaments. I really believe it is due to me eating natural foods as well as processed. I increase my weight when I eat loads of biscuits / cookies and I am not hungry to have real food.
