Years ago I read this advice and it made sense to me, the advice was to eat your fruit ½ hour before the meal. I started doing it and as usual good habits tend to disappear. I will re-introduce this while being on the HCG diet plan as I am having a fruit with my meals. So from today I will start eating the fruit ½ hour before eating my meal.
It makes sense as fruits are simple carbohydrates and they digest quickly if you eat them with other foods, they are being digested slowly. Anything that assist to our well being is welcomed by me. I am learning so much on this journey.
The other possibility is to eat at least 2 hours after the meal.
Whatever you chose, I think this is one of those things we read about and they should be implemented to assist in our Healthy Living quest.

Just saw this after eating an orange however after fearing I’d got it all wrong I realised that there has been 2-3 hours since my lunch so I think I’m ok. There is so much conflicting information out there but I’ve learnt something new here.

I know what you mean, there is so much conflicting information out there. I posted this because it reminded me of the advice I read from a health writer that I have been following since the 80s and she seems consistent 🙂

That is a great idea. I’m not a fruit person so it is a hard habit for me to get into. Eating them first might make it easier. Thank you for sharing.

I know what you mean. Only since August last year I made a point of having fruit each day. I had been having digestion problems but since my new healthy life they seem to have disappeared

On my side I have heard that having a complete fruit and nothing else is also considered as a meal. Well keep us informed on the results part then 🙂

Yes I often have a meal of just fruit and maybe some cottage cheese to have protein and making it balanced. Thank you for commenting.

I’m actually a very thin person and always have been so I don’t diet, but I could most certainly eat more fruit. I always say I will and never do. I just bought myself a fruit/vegetable holder/stand type of thing in the hopes of eating more veggies and fruits.
