Marinade directions:
- Mix all ingredients.
- Follow any specif standing time for each marinade before using.
- Pour over meat.
- Let meat stand 2 to 3 hours, turning occasionally. If you are short of time 30 minutes would be sufficient to taste the marinades.
- Please note you should marinate vinegar marinades for less time in case too much vinegar is absorbed for your taste.
Marinades for Beef
Steak Marinade
- 2 small onions, chopped.
- 1/4 cup lemon juice.
- 1/2 cup wine vinegar.
- 1/4 cup Bragg’s Liquid Aminos.
- 1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce.
- 1 garlic clove, minced, or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (I use garlic here because it is a marinade and the strong flavor won’t impair the use of the spray)
- 1 tsp. salt.
BBQ Steak Marinade
- Mix 1/2 cup low salt, organic if possible, beef broth with:
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
- 1 tablespoon Teriyaki sauce.
- salt, pepper and
- 1 crushed garlic clove or a dash of onion powder.
- 3/4 cup tarragon vinegar.
- 1 medium onion, chopped.
- 1 carrot, chopped.
- 4 springs parsley.
- 1 bay leaf.
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt.
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper.
- 3 drops Tabasco sauce.
Simple Bragg’s Marinade
- 1/4 cup of Bragg’s Amino Acids.
- Any spice you like.
Red meat marinade
- 1/2 cup instant beef broth (preferably organic and low fat).
- 1 tbs. cider vinegar.
- 1 garlic clove.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- 1 tbs. chopped parsley.
- (If desired you may add 1 tbs. tamari sauce)
Balsamic Marinade
- A few splashes of balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced.
- Sea salt and black pepper to cover all sides.
- Thyme (fresh or otherwise).
This can be left for the 2/3 hours as balsamic vinegar is quite mild.
Balsamic vinegar is like wine you need to experiment until you find one that you really like.
I am lucky, here in Spain, they have some wonderful Balsamic Vinegars.
I am quite happy eating grilled meat with a marinade and vegetables. I love plain food. I bought the Gourmet Cookbook back in 2009 but only used it for dressings and marinades.
