Since my quest started back in late August to eat only home prepared foods wherever possible. I’ve realized how much is added to foods without us noticing.
Here in Spain, at least in the area where I live, beef is not high quality whereas chicken and pork are. We went to buy some steaks for a barbecue and they were superb but very expensive.
The following week we found some steaks, ideal for barbecue in our local supermarket, they were frozen in pack of three, which we thought they were better since we could defrost them as we needed.
We had them in two occasions and everyone mentioned how good they were and about the taste.
Just before I started the HCG diet back in August I decided to purchase them and I was really looking at them if it was easy to split the three steaks while frozen to make easy to defrost one at the time for my diet. I then read the label and it only had 80% meat! the rest was soy and other additives!
Another example was my husband. He has been diagnosed gall bladder stones, he has opted for microsurgery but till he decides to go, he is controlling it by diet. He went to watch some sports at a local bar and when he came back he was filling ill. I’ve asked him what he had eaten. He said some cheddar biscuits as they do not have much choice. I searched in the net and there there were 50% fat, a no no for gall stones.
The two examples above show how we do not make full use of the labels that food manufactures have to provide by law. Let’s !

I know it is incredible how many people don’t do it. I noticed that some sweeteners produced a reaction and since then I always read hidden ingredients 🙂

We are on a similar journey! A year and a half ago we started a journey of eating what we grow and only eating out on specific occasions. I have seen a significant difference in my skin and I contribute that to some of the many hidden things in the food we eat out and the processed food A great reminder to keep up this lifestyle change!

I feel so much better and my dream would be going eventually to my native Argentina and grow my own food in my grandparents old house 😀
